A Busy Season of Bridging

You may have noticed – Faithbridge is a busy place!

There’s all kind of cool stuff happening around here: fantastic children’s ministry, dynamic student ministry, life-changing worship and preaching . . . and that’s just on Sundays! I can tell you first hand that a lot happens here during the week as well and all of it is helping us make more and stronger disciples who make more and stronger disciples.  But, you know something? We’re making a lot happen outside the walls of Faithbridge as well.

Just in the last month we’ve been making a significant impact, both here locally and around the world. On March 31st, over 250 Faithbridgers were Takin’ it to the Streets, assisting 10 local partners.  We even got a write-up in the Klein ISD newsletter for our work at Eiland Elementary as a team of 75 spruced up the campus grounds by planting grass, shrubs, flowers, and powerwashing sidewalks. Thanks so much to the hundreds of you who gave up a day to make a difference in our community for the cause of Christ!

In mid-April, I took 3 Faithbridgers who have extensive business experience to India where we spent time working with our partner, Hope for Today. During our time together, these guys used their business and organizational knowledge to help Hope for Today go to a whole new level of ministry effectiveness. We also worked with about 40 pastors, providing them with leadership and administrative skills to improve their ministries as well.

Looking ahead to the summer, we’ve got some great opportunities lined up for Faithbridgers to keep making a difference outside the walls of the church. One of the biggest is going to happen right here in our own backyard.

Our Celebrate Freedom event on the Fourth of July is our single biggest outreach event. For those of you that are new to Faithbridge, Celebrate Freedom is our gift to the community to celebrate our country and to welcome people to our campus. We put on a fireworks show that has been listed as among the top ten in Houston by the Houston Chronicle. We also provide plenty of food, refreshments, and amusements to make sure everyone has a great time. And, always, it’s all free – that’s right, we don’t charge a single cent, because we want to bless our community.

This year we are expecting close to 10,000 people to show up, our biggest crowd yet. That means we need more volunteers than ever. If you’ve served before, you know that our volunteers have as much fun as our guests. This year we need hundreds of volunteers to pull it off with typical Faithbridge excellence. If you would be willing to serve, please let us

We’re also serving around the world this summer with some exciting mission trips to El Salvador and Honduras to drill water wells, work with kids, build houses, and provide for the poor. If you have never been on one of our mission trips, you are missing out on one best parts of being a Faithbridger – it is truly life changing. It is so exciting to see how God uses our sacrifices of time, energy, and resources to make a real difference in people’s lives. If you want to know more about our upcoming trips, email Peggy Burdon.

No doubt, our Bridging Ministry is doing its part to make more and stronger disciples who make more and stronger disciples. Thank you so much for your support. Your participation and your consistent faith promise giving make it possible for all these things to happen. As your Bridging Pastor, I wanted to be sure and express my deepest appreciation for all you are doing.

Peace,
Pastor Dan
