New Year, New Space

The New Year brings additional space for our Kids Ministry as we install two new portable buildings for our first and second graders. This additional space will ease our crowded classrooms and enhance our ability to provide ministry with excellence for your kids.

Why do we need them?
We have been blessed with so many kids during the last several years that our elementary classes have outgrown the space we have available.  During the peak seasons at Faithbridge (August/September, January/February, May) we have had over 100 kids in two of our classrooms.  Add to that a minimum of ten adult leaders and a coordinator and the result is a very crowded, very loud, chaotic-feeling environment for our kids.  Permanent expansion of our children’s space is in our future, but right now we need to do something to alleviate the over-crowded classrooms and allow us to minister at with the level of excellence we want to provide at Faithbridge.  Plus, we encourage our kids to invite their friends to church and always have room for those who aren’t here yet.  We need to open these additional classrooms so we can make Sunday morning the best hour of your child’s week!

Where will they be located?
The new portable buildings will be located outside the Center Court East Atrium near the gravel parking lot.

Why so far away?
This area was strategically chosen to leave room for all ten of our existing portables to be moved to this new location when we begin construction of a new Kids Ministry building.  When that happens, ALL of our kids will be housed within a Kids Ministry building and we will no longer have a need for portable classrooms.

When will that happen?
It is our hope and prayer that construction of a new Kids Ministry building will begin in 2014.

Will I still need to come into Center Court West if my kids are all in portable buildings?
No!  You can do everything you need to do in the Center Court East Atrium.  Coffee and donuts are available as well as a check-in station with a Kids Ministry team member ready to assist you.

What about security?
Our officers will expand their coverage to include these two new portables in their regular security plan.

Can my Junior high and high school children pick up their siblings after the service?
Yes.  Junior high and high school siblings are permitted to pick-up kids from the Kids Ministry as long as they have the claim tag issued at the time of check-in.

Will this affect the 5pm Service Kids Ministry?
All classrooms will remain the same for Kids Ministry at the 5pm service.
