Day 7

Day 7

Deception by Roberto M.

Genesis 3:1–13

With the introduction of sin to the world, we see where each of us can fall short. Eve is deceived by the serpent, and Adam turns to shifting blame. They feel shame and guilt over what they have done and hide themselves in the trees away from God, disconnected. Simply put, sin is us not aligning ourselves with God and His desires (or His laws) for us.

During the holidays, we can be deceived by what the world has to offer. Like Adam and Eve were deceived by fruit that cost them so much in the end, we can end up putting our focus on things that are not of God. Instead, let this Christmas be a reminder of the hope and life we have in Jesus.

The greatest gift we can receive this Christmas is Christ. Nothing that the world can give us is better than what God has to offer us. Just as God went looking for Adam and Eve in the garden, God is looking for you in this season.

Jesus is God’s gift to us, and we can receive Him at no cost to ourselves. The cost has already been paid in full. Will you receive God’s free gift?
