Harvey update from Pastor Ken on September 6, 2017.

    Update from pastor Ken

    Dear Faithbridgers & Friends,

What a week — we've seen more rain and more rallying than I can ever remember. I can't imagine that there is anyone in our body who has not felt the affects of Harvey, either directly or through the ones we love. Our community is hurting, and while it is easy to question and worry and feel down about the days to come, seasons like this are what the church was created for.

I want to thank you for rallying with us, serving, praying, linking arms, and reaching out to the hurting. We were hammered with rain, but now we have the opportunity to rise in revival. May the Lord use Hurricane Harvey as a catalyst for positive change in our community.

I want to share how you can join in the effort:

    1. Prayer

Spend time with the Lord - praise Him for His goodness, thank Him for your blessings, and ask Him for protection and extra strength in this overwhelming season. Ask Him how He plans to use you in the days to come as a light for the lost and the hurting. Let this time not be marked as a season of doubt, but a season of renewed faith. Pray for our city, for the officials, for the first responders, for those left without shelter. Pray for the churches all around us, that they would be a safe place for Houstonians to find healing and turn to the Lord both in the midst and in the aftermath of their pain.

    2. SUBMITTING NEEDS

Complete the form here if you or someone you know needs help after Hurricane Harvey. Due to safety concerns, we are transitioning away from immediate mud-out work to exterior clean-up and long-term restoration teams. We are currently in phase three of clean-up, working on insulation, sheetrock and painting projects.

    3. VOLUNTEERING

    • Serve your immediate neighbors: be a light on your street and serve those around you.
    • Sign up here to join a Helping Hands Team to help with storm clean-up.
    • Click here to be a part of the Harvey Laundry Service Facebook page.

    4. GATHERING SUPPLIES

Wow! Thanks to your amazing generosity, we currently have all of the supplies we need and can handle for the immediate future. Please keep checking as we will update you with new needs as they arise.

    5. OFFICE HOURS

Faithbridge has returned to normal operating hours. However, please call ahead if attending a previously scheduled event, class, or small group. We are continuing to make adjustments as needed so that we can make our Precinct 4 Sheriff & Constables guests as comfortable as possible.

    6. STAY CONNECTED

Finally, I invite you to stay connected on our Facebook page and on Twitter for continual updates. Stay in prayer for our city and for how the Lord can use you in this time.

I look forward to seeing what the Lord will do in our community after Harvey.

    Joyfully,
    Pastor Ken
