    Klien ISD Surrogate Parent Training

Klein ISD Surrogate Parent training (contrary to the connotation of the name this Bridging opportunity has a far less biological and far more academic spin). As a surrogate parent you’ll be an educational advocate for a foster child in a state run group home. In these homes, foster “house parents” are only required to participate in the child’s at home development, meaning many of these students NEVER have anyone present at their parent teacher conferences or open houses at school. Being a foster kid comes with many challenges, though you may not be able to foster full time, you can impact a child’s life by being their academic champion. Sign up to attend this training by clicking here.

Mae's Closet Community Foster Kids Shower

Another way to love on the motherless and fatherless this month is to bring donations to Mae’s Closet community wide Foster Kids Shower, Saturday May 20th at Klein United Methodist Church. Churches across Spring are rallying together to bless foster kids with clothing, toys and furniture. Learn more and sign up to volunteer by clicking here.
