Building on a Firm Foundation

Making more and stronger disciples…

This is an historic time at Faithbridge! For the past decade, our mission has been to make more and stronger disciples of Jesus Christ. We’ve never wavered from it. In fact, more people than ever are coming to experience the life Christ offers. Because of these successes, our current facilities are now insufficient for the number of adults and children coming to our campus. With four Sunday services, we average more than 3,000 adults, youth and children each week. We’re quickly running out of space to welcome newcomers.

Staying On Mission

Because Building On A Firm Foundation is an extension of our mission to make more and stronger disciples, it is time to make more room for the unchurched thousands in our community who still don’t know Jesus Christ.

Countless individuals go through each week carrying heavy burdens, wrestling with hurts, habits and hang-ups, and are searching for a way to find relief, healing and hope. In Building On A Firm Foundation, we will create more space for people in our community to hear the truth and see the light of Jesus Christ. Building On A Firm Foundation really isn’t about us. It’s about those who aren’t here yet.

Building on a Firm Foundation is our mission-critical project to build upon all the foundational values that have made us who we are — we must stay on mission!  Building on a Firm Foundation is designed using three guiding principles:

  • Perserve unique culture

This means we should strive to maintain the organic, intimate and real atmosphere that is unique to Faithbridge.

Knowing that we needed to double our capacity while holding to these three guiding principles, our next step became clear: we simply need to build a second Center Court. Rather than constructing one state-of-the-art, 2,200 seat worship venue with fixed seating and no flexible options during the week, constructing a second Center Court, combined with the one we already have, gets us to the same 2,200 seats we need for Sunday morning worship – just under two roofs.

By doubling our capacity in two near-identical rooms, things will feel entirely consistent with the culture Faithbridge has come to represent, maintaining a real, intimate, and organic feel. This achieves our first goal: preserving the unique culture of Faithbridge.

  • Maintain flexible space

Anything built shouldn’t be limited to one purpose, but be flexible enough so that it can be used throughout the week for a variety of sizes and needs.

With twin venues, Center Court West and Center Court East, we will have a variety of options for utilizing both venues in different ways every Sunday and throughout any given week. Because chairs won’t be fixed to the floor, we can always adjust both rooms to accommodate small gatherings of just several hundred up to large crowds of a thousand or more in each room.

Because we have doubled our capacity, we will have twice as many options for large and small group gatherings. This achieves our second goal: maximizing flexible space.

  • Maintain fiscal responsibility

We strive to be good stewards of the resources that God has given us, especially in this economic season, and are wary of unwisely extending ourselves into long-term debt.

The goal for Building on a Firm Foundation is to double the capacity of our current campus in a financially prudent way. In an effort to be good stewards, we believe it is best to do this expansion in two phases. The first will be the new worship space, Center Court East. This children’s addition will come in a successive phase, as quick as we can, but as slow as we must. For now, we can continue augmenting our children’s ministry space through the use of added modular buildings.

By doing the construction and campaign in two phases, we will hold true to our third guiding principle: maintaining fiscal responsibility.
