Sunday Prayer Covering
September 12, 2010
Psalm 24:4-5
4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to an idol
or swear by what is false.
5 He will receive blessing from the LORD
and vindication from God his Savior.
Father God, we thank You for Your illuminating Word!
God, our Abba Father,
You are exalted in power! You are unmatched in wisdom! You are our highest authority and our best teacher – there is no error in anything You teach. You are our Savior, and our hope is in You all day long!
Jesus, You went to the cross so our sins could be forgiven. Reveal what we try to hide, so that we may confess and be freed by Your forgiveness.
We thank You for our faithful and obedient pastors, teachers, and leaders at Faithbridge. May they always look to You for guidance, instruction, and counsel. May they experience closeness to You in prayer and reflection on Your Word. May they find peace in You amidst the circumstances of their personal and ministerial lives.
We lift up Pastor Ken as he goes about his administrative and pastoral duties this week. We ask Your providence over details, appointments, and plans that He tends. We ask Your inspiration in his sermon writing and delivery. May Your name be glorified through his ministry opportunities, be they sad, sobering, or joyful. We ask Your protection of his health and physical fitness to work all week and preach on Sunday. We pray Your priorities over his balance of administrative leadership at Faithbridge and his spiritual leadership at home.
Thank You for the opportunity to reach people for Christ at Faithbridge each Sunday. Show us, and our community through us, Your ways, Your path, and Your truth.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
