2021 Road Season Safety Protocol
We want you to know we again made new amendments to our 2021 Safety Protocols as of May 6, 2021. Parent partnership is a pivotal piece of what we do, and your support, feedback, and input is essential to a successful ministry year. We heard you and have made the following changes:
On June 1, 2021, The Road will align fully with Faithbridge’s safety protocol. What does that mean?
1. Masks will be optional, unless it is required by an outside authority.
As a general rule, students will not be required to wear a mask on their journey at Faithbridge, unless it is explicitly required by a ministry partner, private property, local ordinance or law. Of course, we will never ask anyone who wishes to wear a mask— student or adult — to take their mask off.
It is important to note: many of our ministry partners are still requiring masks. We will absolutely respect and comply with the requests of our partners in the field regarding masking and other COVID-19 safety measures without exception. Every student, adult volunteer, and paid staff member will have a mask on their packing list, and we will have extras for those who forget. This is not dissimilar from wearing long pants to church, or shorts longer than the knee in Central America — we want to respect the safety protocols of those we serve. We will also mask when mandated by any local ordinances of the communities we are in, and when directed to do so by authorities outside of Faithbridge’s influence, such as local businesses and airplanes.
2. You are not required to test your student for COVID-19 prior to Journey.
We understand there are many reasons why this requirement isn’t applicable to everyone. However — for the safety and well-being all of our students, leaders, and ministry partners — please monitor your student prior to travel, and if they are sick, please get them tested. Please help us maintain the integrity of our program by doing your part to make sure our teams are healthy when they launch.
3. What if your student tests positive for COVID-19 on their Journey?
Students exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 on a Journey will be tested. If your student tests positive for COVID-19 on their Journey, you will have 24 hours to be on site, pick up your student and get them home. As outlined at Kickoff in January, we will give you a $200.00 United Airlines travel voucher if you have to travel out of state or to Lubbock.
I have read and agree to the protocols outlined above
