Giving

"Around here, we like to give the way the Bible says — cheerfully!"
If you have attended a worship service at Faithbridge before, chances are you heard this phrase. To give cheerfully has become the giving mantra of our church community, based on the biblical truth that giving faithfully of our tithes and offerings isn't about obligation, legalism, compulsion, or posturing before God and others — it's about giving back to God out of the abundance of what He first has given us, all with a cheerful heart. 2 Corinthians 9:7

Your generosity provides the resources needed to grow our current ministries, bless our community, and increase our role in making more and stronger disciples of Jesus Christ here and around the world.

QUESTIONS ABOUT GIVING

+

At Faithbridge we believe financial giving is a spiritual act of trust, obedience and worship to God and not an obligation or symbol of church membership.

We believe our commitment to giving financially says as much about our spiritual maturity as our commitment to worship, Bible study, prayer, fasting, serving, integrity and character.

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” — Matthew 6:19–21

+

As followers of Jesus Christ, we understand ourselves to be stewards rather than owners—the Bible teaches that God owns it all and that we are merely stewards of His resources (Job 41:11; Haggai 2:8)

+

Scripture tells us and we believe that giving financially to God’s work can be fun and fulfilling!

“You must each make up your own mind as to how much you should give. Don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves the person who gives cheerfully.” — 2 Corinthians 9:7

+

As an outpouring of our discipleship process, this answer will be different for everyone, depending on where they are on their discipleship journey (2 Corinthians 9:7).

God also says “trust Me with at least 10%,” which means a “tenth” or a “tithe” (Malachi 3:10; Matthew 23:23). For some just beginning their discipleship journey, this is an aspirational goal. For other, more mature disciples, it is a starting place.

Every ministry leader submits an annual budget which is reviewed by the Business Administrator, Lead Team, Executive Team, Finance Team, and then the Lay Elders, who ultimately approve the budget.

Faithbridge believes in active stewardship of our donor entrusted resources and engages in regular auditing by an independent, third-party accounting firm.
