Serve with The Road

WHAT IS THE ROAD?

The Road is our global missions program at Faithbridge, and is among the most substantive opportunities of growth, impact, and development we offer to students, adults, and families. We believe mission is a lifestyle, and that each “Goer” is called to be a Kingdom-difference maker. Join the journey!

WHY JOIN THE ROAD?

Every mission season, God equips our interns to make a life changing impact in and through our Goers! Sydney's story is one of so many that we see on The Road!

FAQ

+
The Road mission season is split into 2 halves (separated by one a week break in July). As an intern, you will be on a team of 3 which will make up the site staff for a mission site. The summer begins in the first week of June and wraps up in the first week of August.
+
The primary role of an intern is to lead, serve, and disciple students. We have so many stories of how our interns have modeled Christ and helped students grow in their faith! As an intern, you will lead between 6-10 student teams over the course of the summer with your site staff. We will provide your site staff with the schedule, devotional plan, and ministry partners specific to your mission site.
+
The Road has an average of a dozen mission sites during a mission season. Mission sites span from the local Houston area to other states in the US and international trips as well! Our mission sites will be officially announced during Missions Kickoff on January 9th, 2022!
+
Absolutely! We have interns apply from all over the country. We don’t want distance to be a reason why anyone wouldn’t apply. Because you as an intern are taking care of our students, we as a church love to take care of our interns! For the summer, you can “be “adopted”” by a host home family from Faithbridge.
+
We love our Ministry Partners! As a church, Faithbridge seeks out existing ministries from all over the world who are already making an impact in their communities. Our hope is to partner with them and wholeheartedly support/serve their ministries when we send a team to their site. Many of our Ministry Partners have been with The Road for several years, so we know each other’s hearts & missions very well. You can expect to learn and grow as you serve with each of our incredible Ministry Partners!
+
A typical day on The Road begins with breakfast with your team and then morning devotionals. The team will then travel to their mission site that is unique to each Ministry Partner. After dinner begins Team Time, which is a special time of the day for your team to debrief, discuss, worship, and encourage!

For our Day Trips (5th and 6th graders), the schedule is modified as parents will drop off and pick up their students from Faithbridge at the start and close of the day.
+
Yes, this is a paid internship.
+
The student program is made up of students from the ages of 5th grade all the way up to high school. Our intern tracks are tailored to each specific age group and there are opportunities to work with one or more grade levels throughout the summer!

The Road season officially launches on January 9th, 2022 at Missions Kickoff. Here, student applications will be distributed, and students will apply for their Journeys. Student teams are built (usually 10-12 per team) over the next few weeks and are paired with adult leaders.

Over the next few months, team trainings are scheduled so that our students can build culture, take ownership of their roles, and begin vision casting for their Journeys. This also includes a Work Crew Weekend which will be in February.

Intern training will take place in late May.

The bulk of the Road Mission season takes place from early June till early August. At the end of the summer, we reflect on the season as a church at Missions Celebration to celebrate all the ways that God showed up and how he used each and every Goer to making a Kingdom Impact!
