Galveston Urban Ministry
October 22-26 | $350 (Fundraising Available)
We appreciate your desire to serve on our Men's mission trip. Here is more information about the journey so you know what to expect.
1) Who do we partner with?
Faithbridge Missions has been partnering with Galveston Urban Ministries (GUM) for over five years, working together to engage, equip, and empower the North Broadway community in Galveston. GUM focuses on developing holistic relationships to transform the community through educational programs, workforce preparation, and poverty alleviation efforts. Their mission is to foster healthy families, secure jobs, and share the love of Jesus. This partnership allows Faithbridge to share God's love and attend our call to make more and stronger disciples who make more and stronger disciples of Jesus while supporting and contributing to these vital community-driven initiatives.
For more information, visit Galveston Urban Ministries' website.
2) How do we serve the community?
We serve the community in various ways, but for our men's trips, we usually help with multiple construction projects. Anything from tearing down walls to rebuilding houses for the community. It might take some elbow grease, but the love of Christ is made tangible after each of our mission trips!
3) Where do we stay?
Our teams stay at the seaside church, which has a retreat center we rent for the week. You can check it out here.

4) What about meals?
Your meals are covered for the duration of the trip! We cook our meals at the retreat center.
5) What does a typical day look like during the trip?
Itineraries vary since they depend on the kind of work and time frame our partner gives us. But roughly speaking, we get up early in the morning, have our devotional time with the Lord, eat breakfast, and head out to the worksite. On the way back, we cook dinner, have time for reflection as a team, and then hang out!
