How Could a Loving God Allow So Much Suffering?

January 11, 2026Ken Werlein

Founding Pastor Ken Werlein begins our Asking for a Friend series with the question of why a loving God allows suffering by looking to the prophet Habakkuk. God does not silence Habakkuk’s questions but calls him to trust. We can believe that He is still at work even when we cannot see it and place our hope in Jesus, who entered into our suffering through the cross and conquered it through His resurrection.

What Do I Do With My Doubts?

January 18, 2026Ken Werlein

Founding Pastor Ken Werlein brings us a message from John 20, encouraging us to wrestle honestly with the question, “What do I do with my doubts?” Rather than dismissing doubt as a weakness, Scripture shows us—through the story of Thomas—that doubt can be the starting point of genuine faith. The invitation is simple: wrestle honestly, stay engaged, and see if God doesn’t meet you along the way.
