What is the Malachi 3:10 Challenge?

The Malachi 3:10 Challenge is a 90-day challenge offered to all Faithbridgers as a "safety net" in order to have the courage to take the first steps out onto the tight rope of living a generosity lifestyle of tithing. Here's how it works:

First, pray and discuss with your spouse about tithing financially to the church, then let us know on this form that you are taking the Malachi 3:10 Challenge for 90 days.
Then, begin tithing for the next 90-days. You can set that up online here easily at rock.faithbridge.org/give.
At the end of the 90-days, decide for yourself whether God threw open the floodgates of heaven and blessed you. If so, please tell us about it! Pastor Ken has folders full of testimonies of people who have been blessed in any number of ways. Use what your 90-day "safety net" as a "trampoline" to continuing to living a life of ongoing faithful stewardship. On the other hand, if at the end of 90-days things are looking bleaker than when you started (or at any point within your 90-day experiment, you encounter personal crisis), simply reach out to the Faithbridge Business Administrator to request a refund for the contributions you made during the 90-day experiment.

Do I have to use the form?

You have to let us know you have started the challenge at the beginning of your 90-day journey, or else we won't know to set your gifts aside. The online form is the easiest way to do it, but you can also email or phone our accounting office at accounting@faithbridge.org or 281-320-7588 to let them know.

What is a 'tithe'?

It is another word for tenth—giving a tenth of what you have, or what you have earned. Some people will ask, “should I give pre-tax or post-tax?” There isn’t a prescription or ‘correct’ amount—that is between you and God. Many mature disciples have told us over the years that the tithe has become the baseline of their generosity, a starting place.

What counts as a 'blessing'?

We have never prescribed what the blessing might be—whether it be financial or health or anything else. There certainly have been stories of financial blessings—an unexpected bonus or an increase in salary, or a car repair or a bill that was less expensive than originally feared. But many people have come back over the years and said they were blessed with a better marriage—more peaceful, amicable. And many others have talked about how taking that leap of faith to live a fully-surrendered disciple of Jesus has touched every other part of their life.
